JASON M. HERSHORN, B.SC., O.D.

Dr. Jason Hershorn completed his undergraduate studies at York University in 1996, majoring in biology and psychology. He then worked as a research assistant at The Hospital for Sick Children‘s, Department of Ophthalmology, Visual Electrophysiology Unit. In 2001, he obtained his Doctor of Optometry degree (with honours) from the Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry, and received the 2001 Student of the Year award. During his studies, Dr. Hershorn completed externships in South Florida at the Visual Health and Surgical Center and the Fox Medical Center, where he received extensive training in the treatment and management of eye diseases.

After graduation, Dr. Hershorn pursued the Residency in Cornea and Contact Lenses at the Southern California College of Optometry which he completed in 2002. He continues to have a strong interest in the field of specialty contact lenses for diseased corneas such as keratoconus, corneal scarring and post-corneal transplant. He also enjoys fitting the new specialty bifocal contact lens designs, and co-managing refractive surgery patients.

Dr. Hershorn’s primary areas of interest are contact lenses, diagnosis of eye disease, as well as cataract and laser surgery co-management. He enjoys providing complete family eye care, sees patients of all ages, and reminds parents to have their child’s eyes examined by age 3.
